About Reflections by Michelle Lipowski

Reflections by Michelle Lipowski has been in existence since 1990. Originally founded as a home-based business in Folsom, California, owner/photographer Michelle Lipowski quickly found the demand for her playful yet creative photography rapidly rose, necessitating a move to roomier offices and studio space.

In 1994, Michelle, her husband Jim, and their son and daughter moved to a larger home to accommodate the growing business. Five years later, they purchased a commercial building in the historic district of Folsom and began renovating and expanding the offices as well as adding a second story to the building.

On May 1, 2003, Michelle moved to her new location at 501 Oakdale Street in Folsom, near the corner of Folsom Boulevard and Natoma Street. Read our press release to learn about our open house that celebrates our new studio!

About Our Founder
Our key photographer, Michelle Lipowski, founded Reflections by Michelle Lipowski because she enjoyed taking photographs of her then-baby girl, who has been featured on our business cards (sometimes along with her brother) since 1990.

Little did Michelle know that the more she learned about photography, the more she would love it. Today, she is extremely passionate about the work she does with children, families, couples, and individuals (almost to a point of embarrassment!), and she can't imagine doing anything else.

We believe that her love of photography shines through her images, which give us a glimpse of often the simplest, and sometimes the most powerful, emotions between two or more people. Michelle is dedicated to ongoing training and inspiration to ensure the studio continues to offer top-notch photography services and products.

Formal Education, Training, and Awards
Michelle regularly attends training schools in professional photography each year, including the week-long California Photographic Workshop in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Michelle has completed her National Certification through the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), and she earned her Photographic Business and Arts degree through the Professional Photographers of California (PPC) in 1999. Michelle also holds a bachelor's degree in marketing/business from San Jose State University.

Michelle has received Awards of Excellence for their print competition entries through the Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley (PPSV), of which she is a member.

Michelle is also an active speaker throughout the western United States, and has received service and fellowship merits for her work in support of the PPC.
