About Reflections by Michelle Lipowski

Reflections by Michelle Lipowski was founded in April 1990 by Michelle Lipowski. Michelle’s intention was to have a nice part-time, in-home business while she raised her baby daughter. Before long, Michelle’s playful style of photography caught on and by the time her son was born three years later, Michelle had to hire help for her growing business. Since 1990, Michelle has earned numerous awards for her photography through the Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley, Professional Photographers of California and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.

Over the years, the business grew often beyond expectations and currently Reflections by Michelle Lipowski is the one studio in the Folsom general area that has been in existence the longest. After several expansions into new locations, the studio is currently located near old town Folsom at 501 Oakdale Street, near Folsom Blvd. and Natoma Street. Michelle is currently seeking a dream country studio setting for the business.

Today Reflections by Michelle Lipowski specializes in capturing happy natural moments during all of the seasons of a family’s life. Although Michelle’s children are now all grown up, she especially loves to work with young children and she really enjoys the challenge of gaining the trust of her youngest customers. The studio offers both single portrait sessions for growing and mature families, as well as “Watch Me Grow” plans for the newest members of the family.

The studio offers both on-site studio and outdoor locations. Michelle also often travels to capture individuals, couples, children and families in unique and beautiful locations, such as Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and many beaches. Clients often tell us that they both loved the experience of being photographed, as well as their resulting portraits. Reflections by Michelle Lipowski strives to ensure every member of a family enjoys their portrait experience, even cranky babies and difficult teenagers!

In addition, if you are looking for a relaxed and natural coverage of your next event, Reflections by Michelle Lipowski also provides photography for family reunions (candids and portraits), as well as weddings, quincenieras, and bat mitzvahs and bar mitzvahs. In addition, the studio provides promotional photography services both in-studio and on-location.

Formal Education and Training

Michelle regularly attends training schools in professional photography each year. She completed her National Certification through the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), and she earned her Photographic Business & Arts degree through the Professional Photographers of California (PPC) in 1999. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Business from San Jose State University.

Michelle is both a speaker and author on the subject of photography and marketing. She especially enjoys writing about children’s photography and photography fund raising events (each year she hosts a Spring Portrait Special with live baby bunnies that benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in honor or her son who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1997). Michelle speaks throughout California and she has been featured in the following publications:
